A Word of Hospitality

Last words are powerful. That is especially true of the final words Jesus spoke from the cross. The gospel writers recorded seven sayings of Jesus from the cross, seven last words, and these sayings echo through the ages to us today. These sayings are the focus of our Lent series Last Words. As we prepare our hearts for the celebration of resurrection on Easter Sunday, we will take a closer look at these final words Jesus spoke before he died on the cross and discover their significance for us today. This week the gospel of John offers us a glimpse into the final words shared between Jesus and his mother and we hear the heart of God in hospitality. Who might we need to make room for?
