The Promises of the Past

Advent is a season of hope. The very word Advent comes from the Latin meaning "coming" so Advent remembers the coming of what the people of God had hoped for: the birth of the Savior. But to hope for something to come by definition requires waiting. Waiting on the fulfillment of a promise. This week we remember the promises God made to his people in the past that inspired their hope so that we too might find hope in the promises of our God.
