Loyal To The End

The Book of Ruth is a big message in a short story. Ruth shows how God is building his grand story out of the small stories of ordinary people. Ruth's story reveals how God faithfully works in mundane, everyday events in the lives of his people and what human covenant loyalty looks like in return. All the characters in this story face life’s normal challenges (death, moving, lack of financial resources, family responsibilities, etc.) and find God is weaving a story of redemption out of all the details. The Book of Ruth is a story of God's loyal love and an invitation to live in that loyalty.

As we begin our series, we meet Ruth and Naomi--two women living in a foreign land dealing with grief on the other side of tragedy. Yet even when it meant great personal sacrifice, Ruth was loyal to her mother-in-law Naomi to the end. What are you loyal to? Where does your loyalty lie?
