Why We Listen

Perhaps the most iconic and identifiable element of a church service is the sermon. So much so that pastors are commonly referred to as "the preacher." Why do we sit and listen to a sermon every Sunday anyway?

Every Sunday millions of Christians around the globe gather in places of worship we call church. Why? What happens in that hour (or longer) of worship that compels us to return week after week? Why do we do what we do on Sundays? In our sermon series Going to Church, we’re going to ask and answer this question in a number of ways from singing to sermons to giving.
